New Delhi, August 30: Indraprastha College for Women hosted an international seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday, August 27th, titled “Envisaging Bharat as the Voice of the Global South: Revisiting COP 28.” The seminar was graced by Padma Shri recipient Ashok Bhagat as the Chief Guest.

Bhagat, a pioneer in environmental protection since 1983, shared his visionary approach to sustainable development, emphasizing the power of small, community-driven models to address environmental challenges.

His insights underscored the importance of India’s leadership in shaping global environmental policies.

The seminar also included contributions from prominent environmentalists, including Padma Shri awardees Chami Murmu, Prem Chand Sharma, Basanti Devi (a stalwart of the Chipko Movement), Laxman Singh, and Dr. Netrapal Yadav.

Their insights enriched the discourse on India’s pivotal role in the global environmental narrative, particularly as the nation prepares for COP 28.
