Jamshedpur, Sept 19: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain over the state today.

Weathermen said monsoon has become weak and this would result in restricted rainfall activity over the state in the next few days.

The Met centre also predicted thundershowers and lightning in isolated places on Friday and Saturday.

Satellite pictures suggested that a well-marked low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southwest Uttar Pradesh was lying over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood.

An associated cyclonic circulation was extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level. It is likely to weaken into a low-pressure area over the same area during the next 24 hours.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Ferozpur, Narnaul, the centre of well-marked low-pressure area over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood, Pendra Road, Puri and thence southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal.
