Dhanbad, Sept 21: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is preparing to take decisive action against the government regarding the pending issues of the Medical Protection Act (MPA) and the Clinical Establishment Act (CEA).
The association will convene a meeting in Jamshedpur tomorrow to address these matters. IMA state president Dr AK Singh and secretary Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh have expressed frustration over the government’s repeated assurances without concrete actions on the MPA and CEA.
They have concluded that a decisive decision is necessary, as the challenges faced by doctors and private health centers persist.
“At the meeting tomorrow, first we will discuss the status of MPA and CEA pending in government. On suggestions of executive members, we will take a final decision on agitation as the intention of the government is not clear over the matters,” said Dr AK Singh and Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh.

The IMA leaders are concerned that the government has not acted decisively on these issues, leading to continued difficulties for medical professionals.
All district chapters asked to report mistreatment of doctors
Dr AK Singh mentioned that all district chapters, including Sahibganj, have been instructed to report instances of mistreatment of doctors in their respective areas.
In Sahibganj, government doctors have been engaged in an OPD boycott since Monday in response to the district administration filing a culpable homicide FIR against a doctor and withholding the salary payments of the civil surgeon.
Frustration with Govt inaction
Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh stated that the patience of doctors has worn thin, as the government has not advanced the MPA and CEA despite Health Minister Arun Kumar Singh and Additional Chief Secretary Health having approved the draft after amendments.
