Ravi Ahuja to take over as CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment

New Delhi, Oct 1: Sony Group Corporation and Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) announced on Tuesday that Ravi Ahuja will be promoted to President and CEO of SPE, with his appointment taking effect on January 2, 2025.

Ravi Ahuja, currently the Chairman of Global Television Studios and President and COO at SPE, will succeed Tony Vinciquerra as Chairman and CEO of SPE, according to a statement from Sony Group. Vinciquerra will be stepping down from his role as CEO.

Vinciquerra will continue in an advisory capacity for SPE as non-executive Chairman until the end of December 2025, the statement added.

According to the statement, Ahuja will report to Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, and Hiroki Totoki, President, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation.

Ahuja became part of SPE in 2021, tasked with overseeing all production activities for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and heading the studio’s India operations as Chairman of Global Television Studios.

Ahuja has also been in charge of SPE’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) operations since joining the company. These have included the sales of GSN Games to Scopely and the acquisitions of award-winning nonfiction entertainment company Industrial Media, renowned UK production company Bad Wolf, and VFX company Pixomondo.
