He said a Mahapanchayat is organized not only for the common people but also for the water, forests and land of this state. “Policies are made from here. There are discussions for common people as well as animals. From this, it can be estimated what its importance is. MLAs play an important role in this Mahapanchayat. Thousands and lakhs of people send their representatives with hope and expectation,” he pointed out.

Calling upon the MLAs to perform their duties, the chief minister said that the country has entered the 75th year of Independence and Jharkhand has entered the 23rd year of separate statehood. “In such a situation, if we look at the democracy during the time of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, there have been many changes. What did we lose and what did we gain in this sequence? This also has to be seen,” he said.
