Ranchi, Oct. 18: A petition was filed in the Jharkhand High Court today seeking the Jharkhand police to produce lawyer Sujit Kumar, who has been accused of extorting government officials in the name of ED officers.
The petitioner, Shiv Shankar Sharma, has sought a CBI/ED probe into Sukhdeonagar P.S. case no. 507/24 & P.S. case no. 507/24 & P.S. case no. 508/24 and also submit a report
about the whereabouts of persons of both the
cases.
He has stated two FIRs were lodged in Sukhdeo Nagar, Police Station having PS case no.
507/2024 where the informant is Sujit Kumar, advocate and 508/2024, where the informant is
Sanjiv Kumar Pandey of Ranchi. “In both the FIRs, allegations are levelled against each other about
the bribe and money were taken from three Circle Officers, namely-
Rs. 3.40 Cr.–Jai Kumar Ram, Kanke Circle Officer Rs. 1 Cr.- Diwakar Dwivedi Ex- Kanke C.O. DTO,
Dhanbad. Rs. 1 Cr. – Prabhat Bhushan Singh Namkum C.O. altogether 6.40 Cr.”
He has pleaded with the court to seek an explanation from the Jharkhand government as to
why the accused persons of both cases have not been arrested and produced before a magistrate?
