Ranchi, Oct. 24: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Amar Bauri today said that the Congress and its alliance partner JMM have cleverly established ‘Rajtantra’ in democratic India and Jharkhand.
Bauri, the 45-year-old Dalit BJP leader, who filed his nomination from the Chandankyari assembly seat, reserved for Scheduled Castes, today, told this writer that there is no “Pariwarwad” in the BJP. “All those relatives of BJP leaders who have got tickets this time, are the workers of the party. They have no role in the decision-making of the party,” he said.
“On the other hand, one family sits on the top and makes every decision in the Congress, JMM, RJD, SP and TMC. Has anybody courage in the JMM who can challenge the decision taken by Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren? Or for that matter, a decision taken by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi,” Bauri, who was revenue and tourism minister in the Raghubar Das government, asked. “There is no such system in the BJP,” he added.
Amar Bauri defends influx of ‘outsiders’
Amar Bauri, who made his electoral debut in 2004 as an independent candidate unsuccessfully, also defended the election-eve influx of ‘outsiders’ in the party.
“We have been able to evolve into the world’s largest political party after the BJP opened its doors and windows to welcome like-minded people,” he reasoned.

No tussle at grassroots level
“We have built up the BJP as the largest political party in the world by pushing each brick. And all those who join us, are the workers of the BJP and follow the philosophy of Hindutva. There is no tussle at the grassroots level,” Bauri, who had been elected as an MLA first in 2014 on Babulal Marandi’s party i.e. JVM’s ticket, asserted.
‘Chunavi mahaul’ in Jharkhand
Bauri, the son of a police constable, said that the ‘chunavi mahaul’ in Jharkhand, compared to the 2019 assembly elections, is quite different this time making the BJP, a favourite.”
He said that the JMM-Congress had been successful in spreading a false narrative of the BJP government being anti-tribal in the 2019 assembly elections. “And, we were not able to counter it effectively and got restricted to 25 seats,” he recalled.
“Five years later, the people of Jharkhand have realised that the JMM-Congress cheated them. It neither could give them jobs nor fulfilled other promises on which they had come into power,” he added.
“No wonder, people, particularly youths are angry with this government and ready to throw it out,” Bauri, who was the first person in his family to have passed class 10 and thereafter did master in history, asserted.
“Now, people in Jharkhand are no longer angry with the BJP,” he added.
The Dalit leader said tribals have realised that Bangladeshi infiltration, patronised by the JMM-Congress government, has posed a threat to their existence and ‘Izzat’ (dignity). “The infiltrators, counted as vote bank by the JMM-Congress, have not only usurped the tribal land and their livelihood but also abused their daughters,” he pointed out.
“So, we are in the poll ring with the hope the people will give us a mandate to save ‘roti, beti and mati’ in Jharkhand,” he signed off.
