Ranchi, Nov 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a scathing attack on the JMM-led coalition in Jharkhand, dubbing it a “Ghuspaithiya Bandhan” (infiltrators’ alliance) and “Mafia Ka Ghulam” (mafia’s slave) for allegedly supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators.
Addressing public rallies in Garhwa and Chaibasa, Modi said the JMM-led alliance is busy supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators. “If this continues, the state’s tribal population will shrink,” he said.
“This is a threat to tribal society and the country,” the PM added.
He also said the Congress would scrap reservations for tribals and hand them over to their vote bank.
This is the first visit of the PM to Jharkhand post announcement of assembly elections here which are scheduled on November 13 and November 20 with counting of votes on November 23.
He accused the JMM-led government of using Bangladeshi infiltrators for “vote bank politics,” facilitating their settlement in Jharkhand, which is a threat to the state’s social structure.
“If Saraswati Vandana is prevented in schools, you can understand the level of threat,” he said.
‘Mati, Beti, Roti’
“Our ‘Mati, Beti, Roti (land, daughter and bread) are under attack. The BJP will not allow this to continue…We will bring in stringent legislation to prevent the transfer of tribal land to infiltrators. We will also take back the land grabbed by them and drive them out,” he added.
Termites of corruption
He also raked up the corruption issue and said, said,” Termites of corruption make the country hollow. In Jharkhand, the JMM, Congress and RJD have crossed all limits as far as corruption is concerned. This has impacted the poor, Dalits, tribals and the backward communities.”
Derogatory remarks against Sita Soren
Modi also came down heavily on the Congress leaders for making derogatory remarks against Sita Soren in Jharkhand and Shaina NC in Maharashtra.
He also criticised Hemant Soren for maintaining silence on the Congress leader’s (Irfan Ansari) remarks on Sita Soren.
He also reminded voters, particularly tribals how Hemant Soren insulted a senior leader like Champai Soren.
He said Jharkhand has been a witness to tribal pride and dignity, and to tribal bravery that has protected India’s independence, culture and heritage. But the opposition parties were “anti-tribal” and did not respect them; in fact, the JMM had disrespected Champai Soren — “the son and pride of Kolhan”, he said.
