PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Nov 14: Several areas in northern Jharkhand are expected to witness dense fog in the next two days.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert in this regard today.

The dense fog is expected to take a toll on morning visibility.

Weathermen said in some places the surface visibility is expected to go below 1000 metres.

The poor visibility would cause inconvenience for commuters, especially movement of vehicles on national highways and state highways.

No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand, suggested today’s air chart analysis and satellite pictures.

An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over eastern Bangladesh extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.

Shallow to moderate fog was also seen in isolated places over the state.

Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 32.2°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 16.7 °C was recorded at Garhwa.
