Dhanbad, Nov 18: LJP (R) President and Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, addressed an election rally at Kerkendra in Dhanbad, urging the people to elect a “double engine government” for the development of Jharkhand.
Addressing an election rally on Monday afternoon in support of Dhanbad Sadar NDA (BJP) candidate Raj Sinha, he emphasized the importance of a government model that would work in tandem with the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The states with double-engine governments have progressed a lot. So, it is our responsibility to make this model work for Jharkhand’s development,” he said.
Paswan pointed out that the victory of NDA (BJP) candidate Raj Sinha from Dhanbad would be crucial in bringing about a double-engine government. He stressed that such a government would be able to address the issues faced by the people of Jharkhand.

Development vs. destruction
The Union Minister framed the ongoing assembly elections as a battle between “development and destruction.” He credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for lifting 10 crore people out of poverty, launching major health and welfare schemes, and ensuring the inclusion of the poor in mainstream society.
One alliance is spreading rumours and misguiding people about the constitution and reservation, he said, contrasting Modi’s pro-poor policies with the opposition’s rhetoric.
Paswan also took a strong stance against Congress, slamming its past actions related to the Constitution and its treatment of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
“Rahul Gandhi is roaming around the country with a copy of the constitution, but the fact is that Congress murdered the constitution by imposing emergency in the country. Till 1989, Congress did not allow posting of Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s picture in Parliament. Even Congress ensured defeat of Baba Saheb in the election. But now Congress is roaming in the country with a copy of the constitution to protect,” Paswan asserted.

India’s growth and Ram Temple construction
Speaking about India’s global economic standing, Paswan hailed Modi’s leadership for making India the fifth-largest economy in the world. “After five years, when I come again, India would be the third-largest economic power in the world,” he predicted.
He also lauded Modi for launching the world’s largest welfare scheme, providing free rations to 80 crore people every month.
Paswan further highlighted the completion of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya under Modi’s government. “Ram Temple was due in Ayodhya for 500 years, but Narendra Modi made this possible only in five years. Lord Ram had to live in a tent, but Narendra Modi made an attractive temple there,” he said.
Although Union Agriculture Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan was scheduled to address the rally, he was unable to attend.
