Daltonganj, Nov 25: Four digital X-ray machines have been installed across Palamu, with one at each of two community health centres and two sub-divisional hospitals.
Giving this information the Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said, “The community centers at Harihurganj and Panki have got one each digital X-ray plant. They are installed too.”
Similarly, one each digital X-ray plant has been installed at two sub-divisional hospitals in Chhaterpur and Hussainabad.
Dr Anil Kumar said, “Our DC Shashi Ranjan took a keen interest in the installation of the digital X-ray plants. We got it done.”
Technician training and power backup plans
“We believe all four digital X-ray plants will be operational by the first week of this coming December,” said Dr Anil Kumar.
About technicians and power backup Civil Surgeon said “We have one trained digital x-ray operator in Panki community health centre. As for the rest three installations we will be training our old ones who used to operate traditional X-ray machines. These old hands will learn soon to handle digital X-ray plants. About power back up we have generator sets. Power supply will be taken care of.”

Upcoming enhancements to medical equipment
He also informed about setting up one ultrasound system each at Bishrampur and Lesliganj community health centres saying these two CHCs have competent doctors having diplomas in gynaecology.
The Civil Surgeon further said, “There would be arriving two more advanced life support ambulances and one Mokch Vahan. It would be in fitness of thing if one advanced life support ambulance is kept at the sub-divisional hospital Chhaterpur as it is right on the NH where cases of accidents do come.”
Multi-crore CT scan installation at MMCH Daltonganj
Dr Anil Kumar further said the power grid of India Limited is to set up a multi-crore worth CT scan at the MMCH Daltonganj.
He said “It’s getting late. It ought to have gained momentum soon after the Chhath festival.”
He then explained that precious time was spent on the site for it like be it on the first floor or on the ground floor.
“It’s now the ground floor. The base is to take the load of 3 tonnes. The ground floor will serve” added the Civil Surgeon.

Press briefing relocation
Civil Surgeon’s press briefing today was at the Gol Ghar of the MMCH Daltonganj. Media persons were duly informed about the Gol Ghar venue.
However, minutes later the venue for the press briefing was shifted from Gol Ghar to the conference hall of the Civil Surgeon’s office.
Civil Surgeon at the start of his press briefing at the conference hall of his office told media persons “I apologize to all of you for the inconvenience caused to you following the change of the venue for the press briefing.”
“It was scheduled to be held at the Gol Ghar of the MMCH Daltonganj earlier. But I won’t like to elaborate on what happened so to have my press briefing here in the conference hall.”
He conveyed his impression that his holding the press briefing at the Gol Ghar was resented much there and so he had to push off for this conference hall.
Civil Surgeon didn’t name or identify as to whose resentment against his holding press briefing was for the Gol Ghar. Dr Anil Kumar maintained professional decency so as not to reveal the factor of resentment towards his holding the press briefing at the Gol Ghar.
