Ranchi, Dec 3: The Chaibasa district administration, following the order of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, today rushed to Asura village in Jhinkpani to arrange for five destitute children’s education, ration, nutrition and approval for a pension for their grandmother.

What is the issue?

The chief minister came to know that after the death of Sahu Purti and Dukhi Purti, residents of Asura village in Jhinkpani, West Singhbhum on November 24, their five children have become helpless. Their elderly grandmother, who looks after the child, is deprived of a social security pension. After getting information about this, the Chief Minister ordered to connect the victim’s family with government schemes and ensure the education of the children.

BDO visits Asura village

The Chaibasa deputy commissioner said that the block development officer visited Asura village and met the victim’s family. During this, it was found that the children had neither an Aadhaar card nor a birth certificate. The elderly grandmother used to get a pension earlier, which was stopped due to some reason. Pension papers have also been lost somewhere.

The BDO is ensuring the arrangement of birth certificates and Aadhaar registration of all the children.

Also, a child of four months is being looked after by his aunt. The administration has asked the Anganwadi worker to provide nutritious supplements from Anganwadi and enrol three children in the local school and one child in the Anganwadi centre. All documents are also being updated to link them with the social security schemes.
