Ranchi, Dec 22: BJP state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi sharply criticised the state government today.

In a social media post, Marandi accused the traffic police in Ranchi of focusing solely on collecting fines rather than improving the traffic system. He claimed that the public is unfairly targeted with heavy fines, even for minor mistakes.

He pointed out that instead of addressing critical issues such as road safety and traffic control, the government appears to prioritise fine collection.

Marandi emphasised that while following traffic rules is essential for road safety, the problem cannot be resolved merely by imposing fines. He argued that issues like poor road conditions, faulty traffic signals, and lack of public awareness must first be addressed.
