Dhanbad, Dec 25: The Dhanbad Cricket Association (DCA) honoured all-rounder Anandita Kishor on Wednesday for her selection to the Indian team for the ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup Cricket Championship.

The championship is set to take place from January 18 to February 2 in Malaysia.

Anandita, a resident of Govindpur in Dhanbad, is the only player from Jharkhand selected for the Indian Under-19 squad.

Pride for Jharkhand and Dhanbad Cricket

DCA President and former Vice-President of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), Manoj Kumar, expressed immense pride in Anandita’s achievement.

Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, he said, “Dhanbad as well as the Jharkhand cricket fraternity feel proud of her selection in the Indian squad for the World Cup.”

He added, “Cricket lovers across the state and administration have high hopes from you, Anandita, in the T20 Women’s World Cup. We hope you will make Jharkhand and the country proud with an outstanding performance in the championship.”

He remarked, “Through sheer hard work and commitment, she has secured her spot in the team. We have great expectations from you to help bring the World Cup home.”

DCA Secretary Uttam Biswas also highlighted that Anandita’s success would serve as an inspiration for other female cricketers in Dhanbad to pursue the sport with dedication and determination.

Anandita’s Gratitude and Determination

Anandita, who earned her place in the Indian Under-19 squad through impressive performances in the Champions Trophy and Asia Cup, expressed heartfelt gratitude to DCA officials for their recognition.

“I assure you I will give my best in the championship to bring the World Cup to India,” she said during the ceremony.

A student of former Ranji Trophy batter Chandramohan Jha, who currently coaches the Jharkhand Under-16 team, Anandita is now fully focused on delivering her best performance in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
