Ranchi, Dec 31: Welfare Minister Chamra Linda on Tuesday conducted a review of the distribution progress for bicycles and scholarships for school students. The review was held via video conferencing with welfare officers, project directors, ITDA representatives, and divisional sub-directors from all districts at the Kalyan Complex in Morhabadi.
During the meeting, Minister Chamra Linda expressed dissatisfaction with the progress in pre-matric scholarship distribution in Ramgarh and Koderma districts. He issued strict instructions to the welfare officers of these districts to ensure the scholarship amounts were distributed within the next three days. He warned that failure to meet this deadline would result in action being taken, including the suspension of salaries for the concerned officers in January 2025.

Focus on Public Interest and Timely Service
The minister emphasized that resolving all pending pre-matric scholarship cases must be a top priority. He directed officials to settle these cases by January 4, stressing that public interest and public service should guide their efforts. He reminded the Welfare Department, staff of their responsibility, to approach challenges with solutions and a commitment to social service.
Post-Matric Scholarship Deadline
Chamra Linda also instructed officials to complete the distribution of post-matric scholarship amounts by February 2025. He underlined the importance of timely scholarship distribution, explaining that it directly supports students in preparing for their courses and exams. He noted that the state government is committed to providing equal educational opportunities for all, particularly for ST and SC students, and urged officials to meet the stipulated timelines for all student categories.
Cycle Distribution by January 2025
The minister directed the completion of cycle distribution by the end of January 2025. Highlighting the purpose of the cycle scheme, he explained that it is designed to reduce school dropout rates among Class 8 students. He instructed officials to ensure that cycles are provided promptly and in tandem with enrollment. The minister also emphasized the importance of preparing an action plan to facilitate early distribution at the start of the academic session, stating that delays in this work would not be tolerated.
