New Delhi, Jan 8: Justices Ajay Digpaul and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar were sworn in as judges of the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, raising the total number of judges to 37.
The oath was administered by Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bhakru in a ceremony attended by judges and lawyers at the court premises.
Despite this addition, the High Court continues to operate with vacancies, as its sanctioned strength stands at 60.

The Centre officially notified the appointment of advocates Ajay Digpaul and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar as judges of the Delhi High Court on Monday. The notification was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice, confirming their elevation to the bench.
The names of two other advocates, Shwetasree Majumdar and Tejas Karia, recommended by the Supreme Court collegium, are still pending approval from the Centre.
The Supreme Court collegium recommended several advocates for judgeships at the Delhi High Court in a resolution passed in August 2024. The Centre has approved the appointments of two of these advocates.
