Jharkhand News: Retired Loyola School teacher Dilip Acharya passes away

Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Retired Loyola School Jamshedpur teacher Dilip Acharya passed away on Sunday at his residence at Sakchi Seagull Apartment Reliance Fresh. The news of his demise has left the community in mourning. Acharya, a respected educator, was known for his long and dedicated service to Loyola School.

His elder son, Gregory Acharya, who recently suffered a leg injury in an accident, is unable to walk, and his wife is in a state of shock. Meanwhile, the family is awaiting the return of Acharya’s younger son, who resides in London, to perform the last rites.

Loyola School Principal, Father Vinod Fernandes, along with Rajiv Talwar of the Loyola Alumni Association, Ronald D’Costa, and Professor Raymond D’Souza, Secretary of the Beldih Cemetery Committee, are in constant touch with the bereaved family to provide all possible support during this difficult time.

On Sunday evening, Rajiv Talwar, along with Savak Patel, Iqbal Alam, Gaurav Rungta, Haren Rupani, and others from the Alumni Association, visited the residence and arranged for the body to be kept in the cold storage facility at Tata Main Hospital. The burial will take place at Beldih Cemetery according to Roman Catholic customs once the younger son arrives.

Dilip Acharya hailed from a business family in Adra and was deeply rooted in his community. His three brothers, along with retired principal Ramanuj Pandey, have also arrived in Jamshedpur to support the family.

The loss of Dilip Acharya is a significant one for the Loyola School community and the city of Jamshedpur. His contributions as an educator and his impact on countless students will be remembered fondly.
