Dhanbad, Jan 31: The three-day socio-cultural fest, Srijan’25, of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, commenced at the Penman Auditorium of the institute. The event has attracted students from over 20 prestigious technical institutions across India, including NIT Jamshedpur, IIT Kharagpur, BHU, BIT Mesra, and NIT Patna, who are actively participating in various competitions.
Grand Inauguration and Chief Guest’s Address
The festival was inaugurated by Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Director (Technical) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), who graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the significance of cultural and technical events in fostering creative expression, innovation, and the holistic development of students.
Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM), attended as the guest of honor. He underscored the importance of a well-rounded exposure for students and highlighted that, apart from cultural performances and technical events, expert talks scheduled during the festival would offer valuable learning experiences to participants.

Vinay Kumar Rajak, Assistant Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Convenor of Srijan’25, along with Co-Convenors Prof. Mahulika Gupta and Prof. B. Rajashekhar Reddy, provided insights into the festival’s planned events and activities.
Diverse and Engaging Competitions
Srijan’25 offers a variety of competitions catering to different artistic and intellectual interests.
- Literary Events: Pod Fest, Sahitya Mela, Poetry Slam, and Story Stitch (a prose competition based on prompts).
- Cultural and Creative Events: Fashion Show, Campus Princess (Personality Hunt), Street Play, and Solo Dance.
- Visual and Performing Arts: An online short filmmaking competition will also be held, encouraging participants to showcase their storytelling and cinematic skills.
With a blend of literature, performing arts, and creative expression, Srijan’25 promises to be an exciting platform for students to engage, compete, and learn.
