Jamshedpur, Feb 3: The minimum temperature will continue to witness a slight rise in the next five days, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.

The Western Disturbances passing through northern parts of the country is resulting in a rise in minimum temperature in Jharkhand, said weathermen.

The Western Disturbances usually block the flow of north-westerly currents which increases the chill resulting in a drop in night temperature.

Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 16.2 degrees.

Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 12.7 degrees Celsius while Bokaro Steel City recorded 12.5 degrees.

According to statistics, Gumla today recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius.

All 24 districts across Jharkhand witnessed a rising trend in minimum temperature.

A Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan persists and is now seen between 3.1 & 5.8 Km above mean sea level. An induced cyclonic circulation over eastern Rajasthan persists at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Two fresh Western Disturbances are likely to affect Northwest India on February 3 and February 8, said the IMD forecast.
