Jamshedpur, Feb 5: The National Service Scheme Unit (NSS) of Jamshedpur Workers College, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology, successfully organized a two-day workshop on mental health wellness. The event aimed to promote mindfulness, stress management, and holistic well-being among students.

On the first day, a special session on meditation and pranayama was conducted by the chief guest,  Mokshita Gautam from the Art of Living Centre, Jamshedpur.

The workshop was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Satyapriya Mahalik through an online platform, emphasizing the significance of yoga and meditation in today’s fast-paced world. The event was chaired by Professor In-Charge Dr. Anil Chandra Pathak.

Gautam shared her insights and personal experiences, encouraging students to cultivate self-confidence, eliminate self-doubt, and engage in continuous self-improvement. She highlighted the importance of correct postures, asanas, and the values of meditation. During the interactive session, she also demonstrated bhastika and pranayama techniques while addressing students’ queries.

The workshop was efficiently coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Surabhi Sinha and Dr. Alok Kumar Choubey. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Wazda Tabassum, while the vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Sangeeta Kumari from the Department of Psychology.

More than 80 students actively participated in the sessions, practicing various asanas and pranayama techniques under expert guidance. Faculty members, including Prof. Subhash Chandra Das, Dr. Amarendra Singh, and Prof. Priyanka, along with other teachers of the college, were present to support and engage in the event.
