Bhagalpur, Feb 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Monday and addressed a rally. During the event, he released the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Under this scheme, ₹2,000 each was transferred to the bank accounts of over 9.8 crore farmers across the country. The PM-Kisan scheme provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers in three installments of ₹2,000 every four months.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan were present alongside the Prime Minister at the rally.

Prime Minister Modi transferred over ₹22,000 crore to farmers’ accounts today. Additionally, he inaugurated various development projects.

Centre’s scheme directly benefiting farmers: CM Nitish
Addressing the rally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed that it was a moment of great significance for Bihar as the Prime Minister was transferring the installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana directly into farmers’ accounts from the state’s soil.
He highlighted that over 76,000 beneficiaries were included in the scheme, emphasizing its importance as a key initiative of the Central Government that directly benefits farmers.
PM Modi takes jibe at Lalu Yadav, reflects on farmers’ past struggles
In his address at the rally, Prime Minister Modi welcomed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar warmly. He then took a jibe at Lalu Yadav, stating that those who were involved in the misappropriation of fodder would never be able to bring about real change.
Reflecting on the past, he noted that farmers once had to face lathi charges in their struggle for urea due to black market practices. However, he assured that today, farmers have access to sufficient fertilizers. He further emphasized that during the pandemic, the government made sure there was no shortage of fertilizers for farmers.

PM stresses 4 pillars for a developed India
The Prime Minister mentioned that he had stated from the Red Fort that there are four strong pillars for a developed India. He listed these four pillars as the poor, farmers, the youth, and the strength of women in the country.
He further emphasized that whether it is the NDA government at the Centre or the government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar, the welfare of farmers remains a priority.
