New Delhi, Dec 4: Jagdeep Dhankhar, the Chairman of Rajya Sabha reconstituted the vice-chairpersons’ panel, appointing eight members and incorporating the inclusion of 50% women parliamentarians.
Four women MPs have been chosen to make part of the eight-member panel: Phulo Devi Netam of the Congress Party and Phangnon Konyak, Darshana Singh and Sonal Mansingh of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On the first day of the Parliament’s Winter Session, Dhankhar announced the reconstituted panel in the Upper House.
In case of absence of the chairman or deputy chairman, the vice chairpersons have the authority to preside over the house.
Other names announced for the panel included Sasmit Patra of the Biju Janata Dal, V Vijayasai Reddy of the YSRCP, Sukhendu Sekhar Ray of the TMC, and Independent legislator Kartikeya Sharma.
The Parliament’s Winter Session is scheduled to take place from December 4 to December 22.
