Nikhil, Sanyami win CCL Badmintion Tournament

Ranchi, March 1: Nikhil Kumar and Sanyami Nidhi emerged as the men’s and women’s singles champions, respectively, at the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Inter-Area Badminton Tournament 2025, which concluded at the Central Repair Shop (CRS) Barkakana.

In the veteran men’s singles category, Asrat Khan secured the championship title, while Avinash Kumar Tiwari finished as the runner-up. CRS Barkakana clinched the men’s team championship, with Barkasayal Area finishing in second place. Meanwhile, in the women’s team event, NK Area emerged victorious, while CRS Barkakana secured the runner-up position.

CCL Headquarters General Manager (Welfare), Rekha Pandey, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and presented trophies to the singles winners, runners-up, and team champions. A total of 150 male and female players from various CCL areas participated in the tournament.

Men’s Singles and Doubles Results

Nikhil Kumar claimed the men’s singles title with a commanding victory over Shashi Prakash of Barkakana Sayal in the final.

However, Shashi Prakash, teaming up with Vikas Kumar Gupta, secured the men’s doubles championship by defeating Rohit Kumar and Subir Das in an intense final match.

Sanyami Nidhi Secures Double Titles

Sanyami Nidhi achieved a remarkable double crown in the tournament. She triumphed in the women’s singles final, defeating Pooja Thakur. Later, she paired with Pooja Thakur in the women’s doubles event, where they overcame Malti Kumari and Manju Kumari to win the title.

Men’s Doubles Final

In the men’s doubles final, the duo of Mohan Lal Singh and Sanjay Chatterjee emerged victorious against Avinash Kumar Tiwari and Suresh Vishwakarma.

The tournament was officiated by national panel referee Alok Kumar and Jharkhand Badminton Association panel umpire Akash Kumar from Ramgarh.
