Jamshedpur, March 7: Jharkhand is experiencing an extended weather with most places notching below the 13 degrees Celsius mark.
The chill returned due to the dominating northwesterly currents, which made a comeback, resulting in an abrupt fall in minimum temperature across the state.
Chatra today recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Khunti and Lohardaga, where the minimum reading plummeted to 8.6 and 8.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The temperature dropped to 9 degrees Celsius at Simdega, while Jagannathpur in the West Singhbhum district recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius.

Garhwa recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 13.1 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur recorded 14.6 degrees.
Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius, while Bokaro recorded 11.5 degrees.
Weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre said, “The chill has intensified due to the resumption of northerly wind.”
According to weathermen, the maximum temperature would witness a gradual rise in the next three days.
