Balochistan, March 12: Pakistan’s security forces successfully freed 155 hostages, including women and children, from terrorist captivity after an attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Bolan Pass.

The rescue operation also led to the killing of 27 attackers, while security personnel continued efforts to clear the area.

The attack unfolded when militants detonated a bomb on the railway track, forcing the Peshawar-Quetta Jaffar Express to a stop. The heavily armed assailants then took approximately 400 passengers hostage, targeting civilians and leaving the train’s driver severely injured.

In response, security forces launched an operation, surrounding the terrorists and engaging in a fierce exchange of fire.

Following the rescue, the freed passengers were transported to Quetta under strict security, where anxious family members awaited their arrival. Hospitals in Sibbi were placed on high alert due to the emergency.

Officials stated that the terrorists suffered heavy losses, forcing them to scatter into smaller groups. Given the challenging terrain, security forces initiated a clearance operation to eliminate any remaining threats.
