Jamshedpur, March 21: An accident occurred at the Steel Melting Shop of Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar plant in Odisha at around 11.30 am today.
The company confirmed that nine individuals were injured in the incident and were immediately taken to Tata Steel Medica Hospital for medical attention and one of them has already been discharged from the hospital after first aid.
“The medical team is attending to the injured and has confirmed that everyone is now out of danger,” said a company spokesman.

“We are committed to providing them with the best possible care and all necessary efforts are being made to ensure their well-being,” added the spokesman.
The incident has been intimated to the concerned authorities and the family members of the injured persons.
The incident site has been barricaded and an internal investigation is underway.
A press statement issued by the company stated, “Please do not believe in the fake videos that are being circulated in the social media as the incident of our plant. As a responsible corporate, safety and well-being of our employees and all our stakeholders are our top priority.”
