Dhanbad, March 24: Over 100 medical experts from seven states across India will participate in the 3rd Annual Jharkhand State Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) at SNMMCH Dhanbad on March 28-29.
The two-day conference will focus on key healthcare topics, including non-communicable diseases, occupational health, and preventive radiology.
Confirmed Participation from Leading Medical Institutions
Organizing Chairperson Dr. Ravi Ranjan Jha confirmed that 100 expert doctors from medical colleges in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir have confirmed their participation.
Additionally, specialists from Jharkhand’s seven medical institutions, including RIMS Ranchi, AIIMS Deoghar, MGMMCH Jamshedpur, SNMMCH Dhanbad, PJMCH Dumka, MMCH Palamu, and SBMCH Hazaribagh, will also take part in the event.
The newly appointed Principal of SNMMCH, Dr. S.K. Chourasia, will inaugurate the conference.

Day 1: Research Methods for Postgraduate Students
Dr. Jha outlined the conference schedule, stating that on the first day (March 28), experts from various medical colleges will guide postgraduate students and research scholars on research methodology. The session aims to enhance their understanding of conducting scientific studies effectively.
Day 2: Focus on Non-Communicable Diseases and Preventive Healthcare
The theme of JHIPSMCON 2025 is “Non-Communicable Diseases – A Growing Challenge for the Community.” On the second day (March 29), experts will discuss cancer and other non-communicable diseases, focusing on preventive measures, including the role of vaccines. They will also highlight the importance of Preventive Radiology and address various occupational health challenges.
Dr. Jha emphasized that the conference will provide a valuable platform for Jharkhand’s medical professionals to exchange knowledge with experts from other states.
It will also be particularly beneficial for postgraduate students and young doctors, offering them insights into the latest advancements in public health and preventive medicine.
