Ranchi, March 29: The walls of Government Middle School, Karamtoli, came alive with vibrant hues today as social outfit Pankhuri organised an inspiring art and painting workshop for underprivileged children. The event, a perfect blend of artistic brilliance and youthful imagination, saw celebrated artists guiding young participants in expressing their creativity through colours and strokes.
Artists and Students Unite Through Art
With paintbrushes in hand, renowned artists showcased their skills on canvas, captivating the young learners. At the same time, nearly 20 children poured their imagination onto drawing sheets, illustrating themes of Sarhul, Eid, and scenic landscapes. For many of these budding artists, it was their first opportunity to engage with professional painters—an experience that left a lasting impression.
Distinguished Guests Lead the Way
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dinesh Singh, Guest of Honour Ramanuj Shekhar, and Vinod Ranjan, who together created a stunning floral design on canvas, surrounded by eager children and Pankhuri members.
Addressing the students, Dinesh Singh highlighted the power of art:
“Whatever you know, express it on canvas. Art not only showcases talent but also relieves stress. Keep working hard, pursue your education, and continuously refine your artistic skills.”
Adding to the discussion, guest speaker Rinku Khemka emphasised the importance of girls’ education. She engaged students in a lively Q&A session, where children shared aspirations of becoming pilots, army officers, and police personnel.
“Education is crucial for both boys and girls. Alongside learning, building a career is key to leaving a mark on society,” she remarked.

Recognising Young Talent
The highlight of the event was an art competition, where students were recognised for their outstanding creativity:
First Prize – Nehanti Kumari
Second Prize – Anushka Kumari
Third Prize – Riya Kumari
Consolation Prizes – Chami Hembrom & Deepika Kumari
All participating artists were honoured with certificates from Pankhuri, making the event a truly memorable one.
A Celebration of Art and Learning
The event was a resounding success, attended by Pankhuri Chairperson Arti Sahuliyar, Treasurer Hazel Davis, Vice President Rajesh Raj Ravi, Principal Sufia Khatoon, and Sangeeta Kumari Singh. Their presence and encouragement further motivated the children to continue pursuing art alongside their education.
