New Delhi, April 7: The central government on Monday announced a ₹50 hike in the price of 14-kg domestic LPG cylinders, including those provided under the Ujjwala scheme.

Following the revision, the price of an LPG cylinder under the Ujjwala scheme has increased from ₹503 to ₹553, while the price of a non-Ujjwala domestic cylinder has risen from ₹803 to ₹853.

Explaining the decision, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri said that the hike was necessitated by rising international prices.

He stated that the government had decided to raise cooking gas prices by ₹50 in response to the global market trends.
