On May 3 and 4, thunderstorm activity is likely to persist across various parts of the state, with no regions exempted from the forecast on May 4.

Residents are advised to stay indoors during stormy weather and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to lightning strikes and wind damage.

The prevailing weather conditions are attributed to a north-south trough extending from an upper air cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan to north Kerala, passing through West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Interior Karnataka. This trough extends up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh and adjoining areas continues to influence the region, now observed between 3.1 and 7.6 Km above mean sea level, further contributing to the current instability in weather patterns.

The meteorological department has urged farmers and outdoor workers to monitor weather updates and take all safety measures during this period.
