Ranchi, May 4: With just two days to go for the much-anticipated ‘Save Constitution Rally’ in Ranchi, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) is leaving no stone unturned to make the event a landmark in the state’s political landscape. Senior leaders, ministers, MLAs and party workers are in full throttle—holding marathon meetings, ramping up public outreach and accelerating digital campaigns.
The rally, to be held on May 6, is being positioned not just as a protest but as a clarion call to safeguard democracy, social justice, and constitutional values. At the heart of the Congress’ message: a fierce rejection of the BJP’s alleged attempts to politicise the National Herald case and manipulate constitutional institutions like the Election Commission.
“This is a fight for the soul of democracy,” say Congress leaders
The Congress claims the BJP continues to target Rahul Gandhi and the party through a new ad campaign, even after the Supreme Court gave them a clean chit in the National Herald case. Speaking at a high-level strategy meeting held today at Congress Bhawan, Ranchi, party leaders pledged to counter what they call “a systematic assault on democratic values.”
Key leaders present at the meeting included General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Tausif, Suryakant Shukla, Manzoor Ahmed Ansari, and several others.
Final touches: District mobilisation, digital blitz and stage prep in full swing
District presidents and nodal officers were given clear directives to ensure strong worker participation from across Jharkhand. Congress leader Bela Prasad is reportedly monitoring every detail of the rally’s logistics, from stage construction and sound systems to medical assistance and security coordination.
A special focus has been placed on digital engagement. Posters, videos, and theme-based content around the slogan “Save Constitution” are being actively circulated to inform and mobilise the public.
