Jamshedpur, May 10: In a significant verdict, the Jamshedpur Civil Court acquitted notorious gangster Akhilesh Singh, Rahul Singh, and 10 others due to lack of evidence in the 2014 courtroom assault case.

The judgment was delivered by ADJ-4 Anandmani Tripathi.

During the hearing, Akhilesh Singh appeared via video conferencing from Dumka Central Jail.

The incident in question occurred on May 24, 2014, when a man named Chabbu opened fire on Akhilesh Singh during a court appearance.

In retaliation, Rahul Singh, Kanhaiya Singh, and others brutally assaulted Chabbu, causing a major stir across the city.

Police had initially named 14 individuals, including Akhilesh Singh and Prince Singh, as accused in the case.

However, the court acquitted 12 of them, citing insufficient evidence. The verdict has elicited mixed reactions from the public.
