Jamshedpur, May 12: Netaji Subhas University, located at Pokhari in the outskirts of Jamshedpur, hosted a spectacular Bollywood Night that saw thousands of students grooving to popular Bollywood tracks on Sunday night.
The evening, which ran till 9.30 pm, featured Bollywood sensation Kanika Kapoor and DJ Koel, making it a night to remember.
The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by university dignitaries including Chancellor Madanmohan Singh, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Prabhat Kumar Pani, Registrar Nagendra Singh, and other academic and administrative officials, along with Kanika Kapoor.
Prominent social media influencers, including Bhavvichitra and “Jamshedpurwala”, also graced the event.

Kanika Kapoor kickstarted the night with her hit number “Baby Doll Main Sone Di”, followed by fan-favourite tracks such as “Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan” and “Da Da Dasse”.
The crowd went into a frenzy as she sang “Ek Do Teen…”, with students dancing and singing along enthusiastically.
DJ Koel took over the stage next, playing a high-energy Bollywood set that kept the audience dancing to hits like “Kaala Chashma” and “Nashe Si Chadh Gayi”.
Alongside the music, the event featured dance performances, food stalls, and various fun-filled activities that created a festive atmosphere across the campus.

Registrar Nagendra Singh emphasized the importance of such cultural events, stating, “Cultural activities like these provide students a balance between academics and recreation. Student life is not easy, and these moments of joy help them refresh and reconnect socially, which is an essential part of holistic education.”
The event saw participation from over 4,000 students and included faculty deans, department heads, IQAC Director Dr. Shraddha Verma, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Dilip Shome, and Coordinator of Administrative Affairs Nazim Khan, making it a grand celebration of culture, music, and student spirit.
