Dhanbad, May 19: The Dhanbad District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) successfully distributed cash and assets worth over Rs 3.54 crores among 39,987 beneficiaries across the district. The initiative was carried out under the direction of Principal District and Session Judge Virendra Kumar Tiwari through a one-day Legal Empowerment cum Awareness Camp organized in all 10 blocks of the district.
The camps aimed to provide direct financial support and government benefits to the eligible beneficiaries, including assistance for schemes like PM Awas Yojna, Indira Awas, old age pension, and loans under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC). Mobility aids such as wheelchairs, tri-cycles, and blind sticks were also distributed to deserving individuals.

Focus on Reaching Remote and Naxal-Affected Areas
While addressing the DLSA camp at Nirsa block, Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate Abhijit Pandey emphasized that the primary goal of the camp was to ensure government benefits reach beneficiaries efficiently and without delay.
At East Tundi block, a Naxal-affected area, 1st Class Judicial Magistrate Wrishi Kumar highlighted the importance of the awareness camps, which aim to provide justice and legal support to people in remote villages.
Ajay Bhatt, Deputy Chief of the Legal Aid Defence Council, added that DLSA is committed to covering every village in the district, ensuring villagers gain access to welfare schemes and legal awareness to empower them.

Key Officials Lead Distribution Efforts
Sub Judge cum DLSA Secretary Mayank Tushar Topno confirmed the smooth execution of the program. Various judicial officers including Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate Abhijit Pandey, 1st Class Judicial Magistrate Vivek Raj, and others personally participated in distributing cash and assets during the camps.
Legal Aid Defence Council officials such as Chief Kumar Vimlendu, Deputy Chief Ajay Bhatt, and other members including Kanhaiya Lal Thakur, Neeraj Goel, and Muskan Chopra played important roles in coordinating the event. BDOs, COs, and police officers were also actively involved in the different block-level camps.
