Daltonganj, May 19: Panki police in Palamu district on Sunday retrieved a highly decomposed body of a male from a soak pit at village Kekargarh.

The decomposed body was identified as of Budhan Oraon (26).

He was done to death by his wife, Lalita Oraon (23).

Lalita in her confession to police, narrated how and why she killed her man. She killed her with a Tangi, a small iron tool.

She killed her man because he was a terrible alcoholic and used to beat her day and night.

On the intervening night of Friday/Saturday the couple had a bitter fight. Lalita was thrashed hard. She, in her defence or in a rush of blood, picked up a Tangi and finished him.

She threw his body in the soak pit. However, when the bad odour began coming, she knew it was her end of hiding the body.

She spilled all the beans. Police officer Rajesh Ranjan said, “This Sunday, in the presence of a magistrate and video camera, the body of Oraon was retrieved from the soak pit and sent to the MMCH Daltonganj for the post-mortem.”
