JSCA Joint Secretary Shahbaz Nadeem inspects Dhanbad ground

Dhanbad, May 24: Former international cricketer and newly elected Joint Secretary of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), Shahbaz Nadeem, inspected the cricket ground under development in the Kako area and expressed satisfaction with the pace of its preparation.

Nadeem stated that if everything goes according to JSCA’s plan, matches could begin on the ground as early as next year, and even state team training camps may be held there.

JSCA, in collaboration with the local cricket body SDSCA, is developing its first cricket ground in Dhanbad in Kako, located about 11 km from the district headquarters, to boost cricket infrastructure in the region.

Dhanbad District Cricket Association (DDCA) Secretary and former JSCA executive member Binay Kumar Singh briefed Nadeem on the progress of the ground’s development.

“Since the ground is quite spacious, Ranji Trophy matches could be held here. However, proper dressing rooms and other essential infrastructure still need to be established,” Nadeem added.

A celebrated spinner, Shahbaz Nadeem still holds the record for the highest number of Ranji Trophy wickets from the Bihar-Jharkhand region, surpassing the previous record held by Avinash Kumar.

Also present during the inspection were DDCA Vice-President Ravijit Singh Dang, Javed Khan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Diven Tiwari, Sanjeev Rana, Dwarika Tiwari, Sunil Kumar, Mahdeo Singh, Rajgopal Singh, and Mahesh Gorai.
