Ranchi, Dec 9: Assets and dues of over Rs 2000 crore were distributed among around 55,000 beneficiaries through the National Lok Adalat across the State on Saturday.
These cases also included the pre-conciliation cases settled during the last two months preceding the fourth and last National Lok Adalat of the current year.
All the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) of Jharkhand and the Jharkhand High Court Legal Services Committee organised the Adalat.
Preparations for organizing this National Lok Adalat have been going on for the last two months on the directive of JHALSA Executive Chairman Justice S Chandrashekhar.
In this, all types of pre-litigation and criminal settlement cases, cheque bounce cases, electricity theft cases, excise, forest, measurement cases, matrimonial nature cases and various civil cases were handled.
Lok Adalat is an effective medium to provide quick justice to the people.
In Lok Adalat, pre-dispute cases and cases pending in courts are settled, which saves both money and time.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand High Court Legal Services Committee organized National Lok Adalat on the Jharkhand High Court premises. The bench was headed by Justice Rajesh Shankar and Justice Gautam Kumar Chaudhary.
