The northern limit of the southwest monsoon continues to extend through Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, Balurghat and up to 30°N/85°E.

A trough persists from south Chhattisgarh to northeast Bangladesh, passing through interior Odisha, Jharkhand, and adjoining south Bihar at about 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

An upper air cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and adjoining south Bihar has merged with the above trough.

Another cyclonic circulation over North Bangladesh and neighbouring areas at 0.9 Km above mean sea level also remains active.

These weather systems are contributing to the current spell of pre-monsoon activity in the region.
