Jharkhand News: Kolhan DIG reviews law and order in Jamshedpur ahead of Bakrid

Jamshedpur, June 6: Newly appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Kolhan Division, Anuranjan Kispotta, visited Jamshedpur on Friday to assess the law and order situation.

Upon his arrival at the police headquarters, he was welcomed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey and accorded a guard of honour.

DIG Kispotta held an introductory session with police officials at the headquarters and conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements being made for the upcoming Bakrid festival.

He issued clear directives to ensure strict vigilance during the celebrations, especially in sensitive areas, and to deploy adequate police forces.

He emphasized the importance of conducting flag marches, deploying drone surveillance, and maintaining coordination with peace committees to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festival.

During the meeting, DIG Kispotta also reviewed crime control measures in the district. He assessed recent incidents and instructed officers to take strong and effective actions against criminal activities.

He stressed the need to strengthen surveillance at the police station level, enhance patrolling, and prepare a list of anti-social elements to initiate strict action against them.

The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including the City SP and Rural SP. They briefed the DIG on the current law and order situation, challenges, and policing priorities in the district.

Anuranjan Kispotta was recently appointed as the DIG of Kolhan Division. Since taking charge, he has been touring the three districts—East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan—to inspect and review policing arrangements.

His visit to Jamshedpur marks his first official review meeting in the city.

Speaking informally to the media after the meeting, DIG Kispotta said that public safety is the top priority and that police should work with the trust and confidence of the people.

He emphasized that transparency, accountability, and promptness in policing are key to addressing public concerns effectively.
