Ranchi, June 11: June is globally observed as Men’s Health Awareness Month — a dedicated time to spotlight health issues affecting men and encourage early detection and care.
In line with this, Orchid Medical Centre in Ranchi has launched a 30-day campaign running from June 1 to 30, aimed at raising awareness about men’s urological and reproductive health.
Free Friday Clinics and Affordable Urology Package

Challenging Stereotypes Around Men’s Health
With the powerful motto “Strong men put health first”, Puneeta Shukla, Brand Manager at Orchid and the driving force behind the initiative, hopes to challenge long-standing societal norms that discourage men from seeking medical attention.
“Many men hesitate to seek medical attention, due to societal norms, male ego and outdated beliefs. This campaign is flipping that mindset,” said Shukla. She emphasised the urgent need for a cultural shift in how men’s health is perceived and prioritised.
Prostate Health: A Silent Issue With Serious Risks
In an exclusive interview, Dr Arvind Kumar Prabhat, Consultant Urologist at Orchid, highlighted the importance of early detection.
“The prostate is a vital organ in the male reproductive system. As men age, the prostate becomes enlarged, leading to urinary issues such as frequent urination, weak urine flow, and discomfort,” he explained.
“In some cases, unchecked prostate problems can develop into more severe conditions, such as prostate cancer, which remains one of the most common cancers in men worldwide,” he added.
Dr Prabhat strongly advocates for routine prostate screening, especially for men over the age of 40, to identify risks before they become life-threatening. “Despite its importance, prostate health remains under-discussed, leading many men to delay medical care until symptoms become severe,” he noted.
