Daltonganj June 17: Following the advertisement for the 585 posts of the fourth-grade employment where Indian Postal Order (IPO) of the value 250 or 125 or bank draft of the same value is to be submitted with the application forms, sub post offices have run dry of the IPOs. Banks are also reluctant to issue bank drafts on cash too.
There is no IPO of any value at the Katchery sub post office in the premises of the Palamu Collectorate. IPOs are a total scarce here in the Katchery sub post office over the last four days.
Such a critical shortage of IPOs is reported from other sub post offices too.
There is a long serpentine queue for the IPOs in the head office of the India Post in Daltonganj.
Candidates coming for the IPOs here are disappointed when told of the zero stock of the IPOs at the Katchery sub post office.

Authorities Promise Quick Replenishment
Postal Superintendent of Palamu S K Sangam told this correspondent, “We are taking steps to procure it. We will have the IPOs from the postal store depot in Patna.”
Reminded that procurement may take many more days, to which Sangam said, “We will pursue it strongly. We believe the consignment of the IPOs will arrive here in another two to three days from now.”
An IPO worth 250 rupees is for the general category while 125 rupees worth IPO is for women, SC, ST and economically weaker section candidates.
The commission amount is 13 rupees for 125 rupees worth IPO and 25 rupees for 250 rupees worth IPO.
Bank Draft Option Also Limited
Additional Collector Kundan Kumar said, “There is a provision of paying fee for the fourth-grade employment in two ways. One is the postal order. The second is a bank draft. Hence, applicants should take it calmly.”
The last date of sending the duly filled form is July 5 till 5 pm, either by registered post or by speed post.

Registered or speed post envelopes in this regard are to be sent to the office of the District Employment Exchange Officer in Daltonganj.
Again, under no circumstances will hand deposits of the forms be accepted.
Some candidates told this correspondent, “We don’t have savings accounts in the banks. Banks are reluctant to issue bank drafts on cash payments. Banks cite a human resource crunch for this reluctance to accept cash for bank drafts.”
