Ranchi, June 17: Delhi Public School, Ranchi, welcomed its new Class XI students for the 2025–26 session with an orientation programme held on Monday at the Vivekananda Auditorium. The event was designed to help students transition into the senior secondary phase with clarity and purpose.

Welcome Note and Symbolic Start

The programme opened with a welcome song by the school choir, setting a calm and positive tone. Guests were presented with saplings, a gesture reflecting the school’s emphasis on growth and responsibility.

The chief guest was Vikas Kumar, a career counsellor and founder of the Psychographic Society.

Principal’s Address: Laying the Groundwork

In her address, DPS Ranchi principal Jaya Chauhan welcomed students and parents, highlighting the importance of discipline, consistency, and a focused mindset during the senior years. She encouraged students to take responsibility for their learning and to approach decisions thoughtfully.

Career Planning in Focus

Vikas Kumar led a session on stream-wise career planning and early preparation for competitive exams. He discussed the changing landscape of education and careers and provided an overview of opportunities in fields such as engineering, medicine, law, and general aptitude-based courses. Using examples and data, he guided students on setting goals and preparing strategically for exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, CLAT, and CUET.

Learning from Experience

Students also heard from recent DPS graduates who shared their experiences of preparing for and succeeding in competitive exams. They spoke about their time at the school, and how its academic environment and mentoring supported their journey.

Getting Oriented for the Year Ahead

The programme also introduced students to their class teachers and subject faculty, followed by a session on the school’s academic structure. Details about sections, timetables, the syllabus, and the school almanac were shared to help students begin the year with clarity.

Clear Direction and Confident Start

The orientation offered students a practical introduction to life in Class XI—covering academic expectations, career planning, and personal insight. It marked a steady start to the school year, equipping students with the tools and information to move forward with confidence.
