Jamshedpur, July 1: A significant spell of rainfall is expected over various parts of Jharkhand in the coming days, as a low-pressure area formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal regions of West Bengal and Bangladesh gradually moves inland.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the system lies over coastal Gangetic West Bengal and its neighbourhood.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level, and is expected to move slowly west-northwestwards, impacting North Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand over the next two days.
Meanwhile, the monsoon trough at mean sea level currently extends from Sri Ganganagar through Delhi, Fatehgarh, Sidhi, and Jamshedpur, before linking up with the centre of the low-pressure system and continuing towards the northeast Bay of Bengal.
Additionally, an east-west trough is active from southwest Uttar Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation over coastal West Bengal, traversing southeast Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal at levels between 0.9 to 3.1 Km above sea level.
