New Delhi, July 2: As part of its ongoing organisational revamp under the “Sangathan Parv” (Organisational Drive), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named new state unit presidents in seven states and two union territories.

This marks the second phase of the party’s internal restructuring exercise aimed at preparing for future electoral battles and leadership transition.

The newly appointed state presidents are: Hemant Khandelwal (Madhya Pradesh), Ravindra Chavan (Maharashtra), N. Ramchander Rao (Telangana), PVN Madhav (Andhra Pradesh), Mahendra Bhatt (Uttarakhand), Rajeev Bindal (Himachal Pradesh), Beichhua (Mizoram), VP Ramalingam (Puducherry), and Anil Tiwari (Andaman & Nicobar Islands).

With this round of appointments, the BJP has now completed internal organisational elections in 28 states and union territories — surpassing the minimum requirement of 19 to begin the national president’s election process.

However, the top leadership election will only be held after key states such as Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi, and Haryana also conclude their internal elections.

Party insiders indicated that new state presidents for West Bengal and Odisha will likely be announced in the coming days.

In a related development, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya submitted his nomination for the West Bengal state president post earlier today.
