Deoghar, July 3: The Deoghar district administration has fixed the rates and quality standards for Peda and other traditional Prasad items for the upcoming Shrawani Mela 2025, aiming to ensure transparency and convenience for lakhs of visiting devotees.

Acting on the directive of Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra, a committee has also finalized the rates for food plates to be served by hotels, restaurants, and food vendors operating within the mela premises.

The month-long Shrawani Mela will be held from July 11 to August 9. During this period, lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad are expected to visit Deoghar to offer prayers at the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham temple.

Strict Enforcement Across the Kawar Path

The administration has issued a stern warning that legal action will be taken against any outlet found charging more than the approved rates. These fixed rates will be applicable across the 105 km stretch of the Kawar Path within Deoghar district, from Ghoradaha to Babadham.

Devotees traditionally carry home Peda, Chuda, and Ilaichidana as offerings from Baba Baidyanath. To maintain uniformity and prevent overcharging, specific price points have been announced.

Fixed Rates for Prasad Items:

  • Peda (800 gm khowa + 350 gm sugar) – ₹400/kg
  • Peda (700 gm khowa + 300 gm sugar) – ₹360/kg
  • Raipur Chuda – ₹80/kg (₹5,000–₹5,500/quintal)
  • Bardhaman Chuda – ₹60/kg (₹4,800–₹5,500/quintal)
  • Ilaichidana – ₹80/kg (₹5,500–₹6,000/quintal)
