Massive fire guts Amul warehouse on NH-33 in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 5: A major fire broke out early Saturday morning at the Amul warehouse located in Simuldanga along National Highway-33 under the MGM police station area.

The blaze, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, engulfed the entire premises, causing significant damage.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire erupted during the early hours when most residents were asleep.

Thick smoke could be seen billowing up to two kilometres away, triggering panic in nearby areas. Locals rushed to the site after spotting the rising flames.

Four fire tenders were immediately deployed to the scene and have been battling the blaze.

Due to the intensity of the fire, a special rescue team from Jamshedpur was also dispatched to assist in the operations.

According to the warehouse owner, Deepak Lohra, the facility spread across one acre and housed large quantities of dairy products, packaged goods, and equipment. The extent of the damage is estimated to run into several lakhs of rupees.

As of the latest updates, fire personnel were still working to fully douse the flames.

Teams from the local administration and power department have also arrived at the site to investigate the cause and assess safety measures.
