Jamshedpur, July 8: Tata Steel’s Corporate Services division has successfully concluded the week-long celebration of Van Mahotsav 2025, reaffirming the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity.
Held from July 1 to 7, the initiative saw the plantation of 1,721 saplings across various locations in Jamshedpur, with enthusiastic participation from Tata Steel employees, volunteers, community members, and environmental enthusiasts.
A wide array of native and ornamental tree species such as Putranjiva, Bakul, Sita Ashok, Kachan, Spathodea, Tabebuia, Karanj, Jungle Jalebi, Simar, Arjun, and Siris, were planted.
These saplings were sourced from Tata Steel’s in-house Tree Bank, which supports ecological restoration and promotes urban green cover.

Plantation Highlights
July 1: 400 saplings at Sewage Pumping Station, Ulidih
July 2: 150 saplings near ATBCL roundabout riverbed
July 3: 355 saplings along 19 No. Farm Road to curb encroachment
July 4: 126 ornamental saplings (Jarul, Kanchan, Mahogany) at CRM Bara
July 5: 305 saplings at Jamshedpur Nature Trail, CH area
July 6: Plantation at C2 Quarters, ISWP, with leadership participation
July 7: 130 saplings near Image Diagnostic, New Baradwari (with All India Women’s Conference)
50 saplings in Jubilee Park by Tata Steel UISL’s Horticulture Services

The initiative was mirrored at Tata Steel’s Raw Material locations, including West Bokaro and Noamundi, underscoring the company’s pan-location dedication to responsible mining, ecological balance, and community-driven green development.
The success of Van Mahotsav 2025 marks a vital step toward a greener Jamshedpur.
