Dhanbad Karate Association Secretary Rajesh Singh passes away

Dhanbad, July 30: Rajesh Singh (39), Secretary of the Dhanbad District Karate Association (DDKA) and a national-level referee, passed away on Wednesday afternoon due to kidney-related complications.

He breathed his last at Patliputra Nursing Home, Joraphatak, at around 4 pm.

According to Dhanbad Olympic Association General Secretary Ranjit Kesri, Singh’s health suddenly deteriorated on Tuesday morning around 10 am, following which he was admitted to the hospital. Despite efforts, he could not recover.

Rajesh Singh, a 5th Degree Black Belt holder, was elected as the Secretary of the district karate body in January this year.

“He was one of the recognized national panel referees from Jharkhand and had officiated in several state and national-level tournaments. We have lost a dedicated karateka and an able sports administrator,” Kesri said.

Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
