Dhanbad, August 8: The newly formed Jharkhand chapter of the Medical Students Network (MSN) organised a two-day special health camp at DAV Public School, Bariatu, Ranchi.

The camp, held free of cost, concluded on Friday and provided full-body medical check-ups to over 1,500 students from the state capital.

This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the renowned Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital and Smile Return Dental Clinic. It marked the first time a comprehensive health screening was organised specifically for school students in Ranchi.

The programme was held under the guidance of IMA MSN Jharkhand president Dr. Thakur Sidhant Arjun and was coordinated by Dr. Aman Kumar Singh, Central Zone convener of the MSN national body.

Specialist Doctors and Comprehensive Check-ups

A team of expert doctors from various specialities—including paediatrics, ENT, eye care, dentistry, and general medicine—conducted detailed health assessments. On the first day (August 7), around 400 students availed the service, while over 1,100 students benefited from the camp on the second day (August 8).

Following the check-up, students were also given prescriptions and medical guidance to consult physicians in the future if needed. “Our mission is to raise awareness among students about their health and encourage preventive care,” said Dr. Aman Kumar Singh.

Dr. Thakur Sidhant Arjun and Dr. Aman Kumar Singh said that MSN will continue organising similar camps across various schools in Ranchi on a rotational basis to reach as many students as possible. They also informed that MSN bodies in all medical colleges across the state will be encouraged to conduct similar initiatives in their respective regions.
