Bokaro, August 8: In a unique and meaningful celebration of Raksha Bandhan, students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro observed the festival as Vrikshabandhan on Friday, under the guidance of Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar.

In an effort to blend tradition with environmental awareness, students, along with their teachers, tied large Rakhis to trees and pledged to protect them, reaffirming their commitment to preserving nature.

While senior wing students participated by tying Rakhis to various trees, younger children from the primary wing tied Maitri Bandhan (friendship bracelets) to trees, spreading the message: “Save Trees, Save Earth.”

To mark the occasion, the school also organized a Rakhi-making and Thali-decoration competition for students from pre-nursery to Class V. According to school officials, the activity helped children connect with traditional art forms while creatively expressing their affection for their siblings through handmade crafts.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gangwar highlighted the symbolic significance of the festival. “Raksha Bandhan represents love, protection, and responsibility. Safeguarding nature is a moral duty for every human being,” he said.
